This would have been a decent opening by July standards!
I don't know if I missed much of this opening. South-east France was already reaching the top of the band when I first tuned in at 1215.
I made a few FDM-S2 recordings, which I checked later in the day. I tried to be methodical about how I did this, concentrating on the French reception.
I switched off once the conditions moved into Spain, mostly because I was still going through my auroral E2 files from January 1st, but I kept a close ear out for the canaries and the Azores, neither of which made it through, although I thought I briefly heard music on 87.7 which was being played on the RDP3 web stream. This was meteor scatter if so, probably helped along by the conditions, but it was too brief to be certain. Just for the record.
